Rod Williams, Founder

Rod Williams established Gongan Consultancy in 1993. It is an Indigenous owned and operated business based in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

Rod is an Indigenous business advisor who:

  • helps government, industry and Indigenous groups work together successfully
  • helps Indigenous organisations and businesses plan, develop and grow.

Managing Director, Rod Williams has held management positions in the financial, mining, industrial relations and not for profit sectors. Rod brings a wealth of business experience, having held management positions with the NT Confederation of Industry & Commerce (Darwin); National Mutual Funds Management (Melbourne); Normandy Mining (Adelaide); National Indigenous Development Alliance (Brisbane), Australian Red Cross (Darwin), Marthakal Homelands Resource Centre (Elcho Island) to Gongan Consultancy Services.

Making change can be difficult and confronting. The easy option for management is to concentrate on the financial viability of the business project and hope that any cultural differences or community action does not have an impact on the businesses profit.

Rod Williams is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
